It is no wonder that the cowardly policemen conducted their raid under the cover of darkness and by suppressing the media so that there would be few or no images of their misconduct.
A culture which would destroy books is a culture which has truly become sickened, twisted, and corrupt.

UPDATE: Since this morning, there have been unconfirmed and conflicting reports regarding whether some of the books were retrieved and stored at the Department of Sanitation’s garage in midtown. Other eyewitnesses report police throwing books into a trash-compacting dumptruck.
